This album is an amazing example of aggrotech at its best. Nero Bellum's vocals sound somewhat like that of Tactical Sekt. It is done in a way, however, especially their new album, that it would have equal appeal to modern black metal fans as industrial/electro fans. As far as lyrical themes, they are very anti-religious and spiteful. A brutal assault on Christianity takes place, especially within the song "The Feeding", which is my personal favorite of the album. Musically, this band is just one of thos...

The first time I heard Psyclon Nine, I hated Ner0's vocals. I remember thinking he sounded like a possessed chipmunk. However, I kept coming back to it, and that sound grew on me eventually. I found it helpful to have a "point of entry", by which I mean one song that wasn't quite as screechy as the others I'd heard but that made the rest grow on me as well. That track was "Harlot", which is probably still my favorite P9 song. I liked this one because it had some lower-pitched, more death-growl styled voc...

Well -- basically, I bought this album for the song "Everything is Beautiful". I got that song on another CD back in 1996 -- but the "J" was cut off in the opening syllable: "-esus loves the little children...". Not so here! Every note is there, clear and sweet! And so, I decided to take a gamble on this one. This CD is perfect! Boy, Collectables sure did a good job restoring things here! You see, I've always loved children's choirs, especially since 1995-'96 -- the beautiful music they made! And, I espe...

Ray is well known for Everything is Beautiful and his comedy recordings. He should also be recognized for his great singing voice. This CD is a good example of his singing and song-writing ability. He also does a great job on his gospel CD. He enunciates very well. I understand he has been sick lately but I hope he will record again.

Ray Stevens remains my favorite singer. Too often his funny side is dominant. I enjoy the comedy stuff. But his serious side remains my favorite. His catalogue has been poorly treated. There are numerous overlapping compilations. How many copies of "The Streak" do you really need? I've always preferred original albums. If nothing else, my favorite cuts aren't always the hits. Thankfully some of his great albums are finally out on CD. Varese Sarabande reissued two of his Monument albums. Collectables offe...

I feel silly...I bought this CD 2 years ago and just now am reviewing it. Anyway, when the CD was released, combining Ray's first two albums for the Barnaby label, it was the 35th anniversary of their release. The albums both go back to 1970. The first 11 songs come from EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL which was named after his Grammy winning #1 pop hit of the same name. The single, like all singles in that era in both pop and country, was the centerpiece of the album. This isn't to say the remaining 10 songs ar...

I had this music on eight-track 30 years ago and played it hundreds of times. Been searching for a source to put on mp3. A friend can now convert LPs to digital. Ray is a talented musician beyond all of the novelty stuff he is famous for.

I love this album! With songs like Hymn of the Angel's Descent, Lamb of God, and Faith: Disease, Nero really puts the songs together like a pro. God, how I wish I could write music like this!

I am new to the EBM scene, first of all. I bought this cd because I was trying to branch out from the more mainstream German rock of Rammstein, Megaherz, and Eisbrecher, and liked the reviews on this album. Did not know what to expect, but to say I was astounded at the amazing breadth and talent and intensity of this album is an understatement.\nWith a dark and gripping story in the booklet to follow along the tracks with, and haunting themes throughout the music, you will be amazed at the medieval feel ...

In London a few weeks ago, I dropped into a tiny hole in the wall Goth/Industrial/Metal store in Camden Town called Resurrection to see if they had any good black metal that was hard to find Stateside (they didn't), but they were playing this on the stereo in the store. Since I was poking around for a good hour, I got to hear the whole thing, and was pretty much completely blown away by the fact that good song after good song pumped--and I do mean pumped--out of the stereo, asking a couple of times, "hey...

I went to high school in Castro Valley with the vocalist, Nero Nero. A character at best. I remember hanging out with him freshmen year discussing music and stuff. Last time I saw him was at the Dimmu Borgir show a few years ago.\nBut all that aside, this is a very good CD and I'm not really a fan of industrial music. The vocals are extremely distorted and the synth pop sound is near perfect. I highly recommend buying this...Fans of Kovenant, Manson, and black metal should like this as much as the fans o...

For whatever reason "Everything Is Beautiful" contains many mono tracks that were in stereo on the original vinyl issue. Very disappointing. Another hack job from Collectables. I'll stick with my scratchy old stereo record.
